Smoking, Stretching and Squatting Anthems
Today’s post is a bit different, as I decided to highlight some other articles and good reads that I’ve recently come across. In a perfect world, I’ll be able to do this type of post every week or two, but we’ll see how things pan out. Hopefully the articles I post below will pique your interest, as they have mine!
First up, here’s an awesome article I came across this week on how smoking should be banned. Everywhere.
If you remember from my first post, I said that smoking in public is probably one of the rudest, most selfish acts someone can perform…and now here’s scientific proof! If you don’t have time to give it a read, it basically says that quitting smoking will help lower heart attacks for everyone, and save puppies from dying. Ok, well, only the former is technically true, but give it a read!
After Smoking is Banned, Heart Attacks Drop
Next up, here’s an article on static stretching from a few years back. I’ve swung back and forth on the “stretch or not to stretch” scale as I believe both sides have some legitimate arguments. As you can probably tell from the fact that I’m linking to this article, I’m currently in the “we probably don’t need to stretch that much” frame of mind, but that we do it because it’s what we’ve always done. Anyway, here’s some food for thought:
Lastly, I’m known for always talking about my “squatting music.” What does that mean? Well, say there’s a day you’re lacking motivation or don’t quite think you’re up to the task of squatting with some heavy weight. Hopefully, this song will come out of your headphones, smack you square in the face, and enable you to perform the task at hand.
So, from here on out I’ll be posting a “squatting anthem of the week.” This week's anthem? Click below.
